Thankful Thursday- March 11th

I’m thankful for. . .

. . . God’s faithfulness in helping me with the Bible study lesson I taught tonight. I was kind of wigging out this afternoon, because I felt like I needed a few more hours of prep and the clock was quickly ticking away. But then the Lord helped me step back and think of the big idea that keeps jumping out at me throughout the book of Joshua- remember God’s faithfulness in the past and trust that he will be faithful in the future. So, I stopped and thought of the many times that God has helped me teach, and whad’ya know, it helped. I was able to focus and productively use the time that I did have to put together the study. And we had a great time at Bible study tonight! Jesus is so patient with us in our forgetfulness. What a faithful God we serve! I’m going to try to post more this weekend about what I’ve been learning in Joshua. I figure if I write that, then I’ll have to follow through with it. That’ll be on next week’s thankful list.

. . . leggings & tights. Yeah, you read that correctly. I’m just loving the current legwear trends these days. They let me feel comfy and fashionable, and they’re inexpensive, too. What’s not to love?

. . . good communication. I’ve had a few conversations recently that had the potential to be awkward (which means I had a strong inclination to run from them), but they were well worth the risk. It seems that talking things out actually accomplishes more then letting something stew in my head for days on end. Shocker.

. . . words of affirmation. I try to pretend like I don’t need lots of encouragement (as if that means I’m stronger or something), but it’s just not true. There seems to be no end to the amazing people that God is using to bless me in this way, and I’m so grateful.
