Hiya. I thought I’d share some random stuff that caught my attention this week.
1. I found this mommy vlogger named Jordan through a friend’s post on facebook. She doesn’t take herself too seriously, she’s made me laugh, and I’ve been inspired by how confident she is as a mom. Oh, and talk about eye make-up goals. Impressive.
2. Earlier today I painted my nails for the first time in forever, and I feel like such a lady! I bought this Miracle Gel topcoat a while ago, but today was the first time I used it. I’m liking it so far! I realize it’s only been a day, so big whoop, but it seems like it will prevent the dreaded chipping. I will keep you posted on this highly important situation. *sidenote: affiliate link used because everyone wins!*
3. I recently decided that I wanted to do a more in depth Bible study, like one that got me really studying the Bible, while also telling me exactly what to do. Blanks to fill in, words to look up, Bible passages to read, things to highlight. It’s like I’ve been craving some deeper thinking, but I can’t be the one to direct those thoughts. My mommy schedule isn’t quite at a point where I can attend a group study (someday!), especially if the homework is weekly. I want homework, but I need to go at my own pace, which is really slow these days. I found one on the book of James that I was able to download for free and print, taught by Jen Wilkin who is a teacher/author from a church in Texas. There are podcasts for each week’s lesson, and this one on James 1:1-12 was SO GOOD and particularly timely. My heart has felt heavy this week- don’t worry, we are all a-ok around here. But I’ve been feeling the weight of the world a bit (actually a lot), you know what I mean? Jen’s teaching (and James’s words from the Bible) encouraged my heart so much and reminded me to ask God for wisdom, trust in his ways, and look ahead to heaven. Check it out if you’re needing some truth and encouragement!
4. And on a different note, Gap is having a really good sale right now that lasts until the 18th. Everything is already marked down 40%, and then at checkout you can enter the code MORE for 25% off your total. We are headed to Hawaii in April (oh, baby, I am super duper excited!), so I decided to look around the world wide web today for swimsuits for the kids. And lo and behold, I happened upon the Gap sale. I like to cover all my bases, so I perused Target.com as well, and they’ve got some sales happening too (b/c of President’s Day, maybe?), but I ended up getting suits at Gap for even cheaper than the Target price.
Have any fun links to share? Let me know in the comments!
I read Jen Wilkin’s Women of the Word. LOVE IT! Super helpful to dig into the Word for yourself. And I’m leading a “study” on the book…more like guiding women to study on their own.
I’m reading that right now! So good!
you’re a lot of fun! 🙂
=) I’m glad you enjoyed it!
